Zayed University was established in 1998 and is a government-sponsored higher education institution in the United Arab Emirates. The University is located in the Academic City of Dubai.

The University offers 10 minors and 17 majors at undergraduate level and 10 courses for master's degree. Zayed University has eight colleges: College of Business, College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, College of Communication and Media Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Education, College of Technological Innovation, College of Natural and Health Sciences, and University College.

University College of Zayed University offers a General Education program during the first two semesters for all undergraduate students which comprises of four special departments offering integrated student support and instructions.
