The Early Learning Center (ELC) provides the basis for formal education and personal growth for children. Two Curriculum Frameworks are being used to promote and guide practice and philosophy at the VISS Early Learning Centre which is the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Framework (VEYLDF). ELC offers children a number of opportunities to maximize their potential and create a basis for future learning. ELC curriculum is delivered through an integrated teaching and learning method. The play-based approach encourages and integrates intellectual, social, creative and physical abilities in children. To promote learning and development, children are encouraged to explore, resolve issues, interact, construct, create and think. The VEYLDF places special emphasis on communication and language, including literacy and numeracy.

While English literacy and mathematics are of prime significance, when a child enters Primary School in VISS, there is also an importance placed on the pleasure of learning, since every child is encouraged to explore and learn about the world. The curriculum has been updated to meet the local context and needs of individual students and follows the Australian curricular program (Victoria). Critical reading, writing, math, and thinking skills are the main focus at this stage of learning. Students are also given a wide range of extracurricular activities which include ballet, instrumental music, swimming, dance, sports, karate and many more.
