Uptown School is an IB Curriculum School which includes the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP) for students from KG to Grade 12. The School is managed by the Taleem group and is located in the Mirdif area of Dubai.

The school offers a truly international education that aims to change the lives of children and prepare them for the 21st Century world. The program focuses on the concept of developing international students who develop a lifelong love for learning. UPS prepares each student for the highly rigorous Diploma program. Teachers at the Uptown School help students to learn and achieve their dreams by engaging and motivating each child and instilling self-confidence in them.

The sprawling 14-acre campus has state-of-the-art modern facilities that enhance the learning and development of children. There are purpose-built facilities for Early Year learners, Primary Students, and Secondary students. UPS has dedicated studios for the IB program of Visual Arts and Integrated Design Technology for Primary and Secondary School students.

The school facilities include three well-equipped science laboratories, a well-resourced library with Wi-Fi enabled study rooms, classrooms integrated with ITC and iPads, gymnasium, swimming pool, separate gym and pool for the Early Years, two football pitches, indoor basketball courts, track and field facilities for javelin and long jump, running track, outdoor tennis courts, Multi-purpose sports area, cafeteria, performance areas and music rooms.

The International Baccalaureate program is aimed at developing students through intercultural understanding and respect, who help to create a more peaceful and better world. The IB Learner profile builds students who are Inquirers, thinkers, communicators, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, reflective, knowledgeable, balanced individuals.

Children aged 3 to 12 follow the International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Programme (PYP). The program focuses on developing the whole child and adopts a trans-disciplinary learning approach. The subject areas include Language, Social Studies, Arts, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social education, personal and Physical Education. It gives students a basic solid foundation for the MYP, DP and IBCP programs.

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) prepares students from Grade 6 to Grade 10 for the IB Diploma program. Subjects at this stage include Humanities, Science, Arts, Physical Education, Mathematics, Technology, and any two languages.

The IB Diploma Program (DP) is for students from Grade 11 to 12 and is a two year rigorous, balanced, academic education program which prepares students for their success in university and outside life. It addresses a young adult’s intellectual, emotional, social, and physical well-being. The IB DP Curriculum includes the DP Core and Six Subject Groups. The Six Subject Groups are Language Acquisition, Language and Literature Studies, Science, Mathematics, Arts, Societies, and Individuals.

Students at Uptown School are exposed to numerous opportunities that develop an understanding of world cultures, knowledge, skills, leadership and compassion. These include competitive sports, drama, dance, music, design, visual arts, academics, field trips, Model United Nation and more. Sporting activities include athletics, aquathon, basketball, cross country, cricket, football, gymnastics, go-karting, netball, rounders, and swimming.

Complete the online application form. Once the school recieves your online application, you will receive an email sent to the email address you have entered on the application.

The email from Uptown School will provide details on how to contact the Admissions team to make an appointment for assessment and payment of a one-time non-refundable and non-transferable Application Fee. All students applying to Uptown School are required to be assessed, regardless of age, grade, school or the country they are from.

The school will then contact you with a date for your child’s placement assessment administered by the Admissions Office and Uptown School faculty

Acceptance to Uptown School is contingent upon the results of the placement assessment, student interview, and former school reports.
