Heriot-Watt University Dubai was established in 2005 and offers world-class higher education programs at degree entry, postgraduate and undergraduate levels. The campus is located in the International Academic City of Dubai.
Heriot-Watt University Dubai is one of the five prestigious Heriot-Watt University in the UK. The University offers a wide array of undergraduate degree programs in Management, Construction, Quantity Surveying, and Engineering.
The one-year Degree entry/Foundation program gives students the pathway to their first year of degrees. The courses include Degree Entry program in Management/Psychology, Design Studies and Engineering/Computing. The undergraduate program offered at Heriot-Watt includes a range of Engineering, Management, Fashion subjects, and Built environment. The university offers an impressive range of postgraduate and PhD programs. Heriot-Watt Dubai follows the same standards for their courses as the University's UK campuses and ensures students are well-prepared with knowledge for their chosen careers.
Students enjoy the spacious, well-equipped and dedicated classroom, library, computer, ICT, and counseling facilities. The library offers an extensive collection of academic textbooks, databases, electronic journals and resource guides. The Dubai campus has fully equipped computer laboratories equipped with 40+ internet-enabled PCs. Students have access to Heriot-Watt University's VISION, a visual learning environment offering web-based integrated learning and teaching facilities. The campus has fully-equipped engineering laboratories for mechanical engineering students to test the strength of materials, dynamics, and the mechanics of materials. The laboratories are equipped to test fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermofluids, and thermodynamics.
Undergraduate Electronic and Electrical Engineering students have access to function generators, oscilloscopes, soldering stations, digital multimeters, and prototyping trainers. In addition to this various hardware and software are provided. Chemical Engineering students have access to Model Refinery, Pipework Assembly, Physical Chemistry, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Analogue Electronics, Piping and Instrumentation, Separation Processes, Process Control, Digital Electronics, Reaction Engineering, and PID controller. Software related lab experiments such as MATLAB, ASPEN PLUS, Visual Basic, ASPEN HYSYS, and LabView MyRIO are also provided for students.
The Student Hub of Heriot-Watt University Dubai encourages students to take part in activities, events, community services to develop leadership skills, interpersonal relationship skills, and exposure to various traditions, cultures, arts, ideas, and styles of life.
Sports offered at the university sports club include cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, volleyball, and dragon boating. Talent-building activities include MUN, Drama, Dance, Debate, Gaming, Music, Anime and Humanitarian activities.
The DIAC Student Hub also hosts careers day, day trips, cultural gatherings, desert safaris, etc.
