GEMS Wellington Academy is a British curriculum school in Dubai bordered by GEMS Millennium and GEMS International School and located close to Mohammed bin Rashid City (Meydan) and the Al Khail Road. It is one of the premium plus schools in Dubai offering a modern top of the range facilities. GEMS Wellington Al Khail is the youngest GEMS schools, opened in September 2013.

The school caters for children from Foundation Stage to Year 11. Year 13 is all set to open in September 2019.  GEMS Wellington Al Khail follows the National Curriculum for England which is recognized by universities and colleges around the world internationally. The curriculum provides a student assessment and evaluation program which helps students to work towards their level of attainment appropriate to their age and capability and also emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, planning and other skills. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is offered to children at Foundation Stage. The academic curriculum at key stages 1-3 (year 1-9) is based on the British National Curriculum, with adaptations to contextualize learning in international contexts. GCSE and IGCSE courses are offered at Key Stage 4 (Year 10 & Year 11). WEK follows the Ministry of Education’s curriculum for Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies.

GEMS Wellington encourages students to prosper academically and physically. To achieve this, the school offers excellent world-class facilities which include science labs, recording and video studio, a 3-level gymnasium with rooftop tennis courts, auditorium and theatre, swimming pools, football, and rugby pitches and specialist rooms for music, art, language and design, library and study zones. The GEMS Wellington teaching faculty are trained and experienced in the UK and are highly qualified in offering the British curriculum. Furthermore, the school employs digital technology to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. All students from Year 3 onwards use iPads to support their education, whenever appropriate and all staff is trained to enhance their teaching with the help of a range of apps. The school offers a positive and vibrant learning environment and ensures that all members are respectful, resilient, and responsible individuals.

To begin the admission procedure, complete the online registration form and pay a non-refundable AED1000. An acknowledgement will be sent containing the next steps of the registration process, and the Registration Team will contact you.

WEK Registration Team will assist you through the admission process, enrolment and classroom scheduling. Parents can meet the team at any time between 7:30am to 4:30pm from Sunday to Thursday. 

The supporting documents that are required when a registration is submitted should include a copy of the student’s birth certificate, student’s passport and visa copy, emirates Card ID copy, 2 recent Passport size photographs, Immunisation Certificate Copy, Most Recent School report/nursery copy, Medical Declaration and Mandatory Information Forms, and copy of the sponsor’s passport, visa and Emirates ID.

Foundation/Primary/Secondary reports from previous school/nurseries will be reviewed by the academic teaching staff and if deemed necessary, may be followed by an assessment or interview. After your child has received an offer to join GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail we request the Transfer certificate from your previous school.
