Dubai College of Tourism
Dubai College of Tourism is designed to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to succeed in the field of tourism. The college is located in One Central near Dubai World Trade Centre.
DCT offers a hands-on approach through a range of programs such as day trips, guest lectures, site visits, as well as job internship programs. Students study at the headquarters of Dubai Tourism in a purpose-built college facility. The lively working environment will empower and educate students as they are exposed to the daily work practices. Dubai Tourism College offers a range of Tourism, Events, Retail, Hospitality and Culinary Arts courses. Upon completion of the one-year certificate course, students may decide to enter the workforce directly or continue their education by advancing to the six-month Diploma course. Students can also choose to pursue the Applied Bachelors for another six months as well.
The courses in tourism introduce students to a variety of services and expertise in the tourism field. It will provide students with sound information about both office and field-based business functions. This course will open doors to the best employers in the industry and ensure a rewarding career. The one-year certificate program educates students with Visitor Information, Travel Agency Operations, Impacts of Tourism, Guiding and other topics designed to ensure graduates succeed in the industry. The Diploma Program is another six months program after the certificate which builds on these skills to provide students with all the knowledge required in tourism management. Students can then pursue the Applied Bachelors for another year following the Diploma program.
Organization, preparation, and execution are the key to a successful event. Dubai College of Tourism empowers students in these areas. The one-year certificate program incorporates theory and practical training to address topics such as Event Registration, Event Venue and Site Selection, Event Staging Coordination, and Meeting Organization and Management. The Diploma Program is an additional six months course after the certificate, which further prepares students for exciting careers in Events. Students can then pursue the Applied Bachelors in Events for another year following the Diploma program.
The Retail course is a must for those passionate about brands and customer service. The course helps you have a thorough understanding of building relationships, customer-centric culture, and strong brands. The one-year certificate program introduces students to Innovation for the Workplace, Skills for Service Excellence, and Retail Stock Management. The Diploma Program is an additional six months course after the certificate which ensures that all students have full qualifications. These programs include internships in the workplace, practical training and exposure to industry insiders. Students can then pursue the Applied Bachelors in Retail for another year following the Diploma program.
The one-year Certificate programme in Hospitality combines theory and practical education in Conflict Management, Front Office Operations, Beverage Preparation, Event Planning, In-House Functions, and Environmental Sustainability. The additional six months Diploma program after the certificate course allow graduates to master the Hospitality Management. Students can then pursue the Applied Bachelors in Hospitality for another year following the Diploma program.
The one-year Certificate program in Culinary Arts at the Dubai College of Tourism educates students with food preparation, Aspects of Nutrition, Culinary and Baking Fundamentals, Food Safety and Sanitation, and Food Service Purchasing. The additional six months Diploma program after the certificate course allow graduates to further have hands-on practical education in food science, business, management, and nutrition. Students can then pursue the Applied Bachelors in Culinary for another year following the Diploma program.
