Description

Canadian International School is an International School following the Alberta based curriculum for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, located in Khalifa A area of Abu Dhabi.

CIS creates an environment of learning which cultivates the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to compete in a global society. At CIS, the Alberta Study Program provides world-class standards and curricula supporting the Inquiry-Based learning (IBL) program, which has been shown to increase students’ ability in problem-solving.

The sprawling campus features a three-story building with windows that enable students to get acquainted with natural light. The main building consists of classrooms from Kindergarten to Grade 1 on the first floor, Grade 2 to Grade 5 classrooms on the second floor and Grades 6 to 12 classrooms on the third floor. All classrooms are equipped with Interactive Smartboards. The Canadian International School offers the Alberta Program of Study along with the UAE Ministry of Education. CIS works to provide a caring, nurturing environment that helps children build the confidence and skills required to become self-sufficient students. The ECE facilities in CIS are intended to actively engage children in activities that are purposeful and playful in their exploration of science, music, language art, drama, mathematics, and physical activity. The design of the classroom provides daylight and warm colors facilitating a positive learning environment. In order to encourage the reading, the KG library offers a comfortable setting for children to explore puppets, stories, books, and their own imaginary world.

The elementary school follows the Alberta Curriculum through an Inquiry-based learning approach. Core subjects at this stage include English, Math, Social Studies and Science.
