Australian International School is the first Australian School in the Middle East and follows the Queensland Curriculum for students from ELC to Grade 12, located in Muweileh, Sharjah.
Students graduate with a Queensland Certificate of Education or an International Baccalaureate Diploma at the end of grade 12 from the AIS. Technology plays an important role at the AIS and students have access to extensive learning resources and data. AIS integrates technology into the curriculum in order to enhance the learning process. Classrooms are incorporated with interactive whiteboards; data show projectors and high-speed internet connectivity. The school makes use of Google Applications for Education such as the G-Suite/GAFE and is a Google School. Students make use of these resources productively at the School.
The school delivers Arabic and Islamic for native and non-native students. Arabic is taught to all students from ELC to Grade 10. ELC creates a warm, stimulating and caring environment for all children who feel secure, valued and happy at school by exploring, investigating, working together, inventing and discovering new learning methods. The teachers follow the Australian curriculum program which includes the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and uses the Reggio Emilia for teaching.
During the Preparatory phase, children develop writing and reading skills. Students follow the Australian curriculum for subjects such as English, Maths, Humanities Science, and Health. AIS offers weekly lessons on Music, Art, Physical Education, and Swimming that further help them develop motor skills, gross motor skills, and creative skills. At Prep students learn to play together, take turns, share and solve their conflicts thus enhancing their social and personal skills. Middle School students focus on core subjects. AIS Senior School prepares students to become successful and confident citizens and leaders of an ever-changing world and encourage them to pursue a new possibility which is achieved through an International curriculum. Students participate in Interschool competitions from Grade 4 onwards such as Basketball, Netball, and Football. The school offers a range of extracurricular activities such as swimming, visual arts, music, drama, journalism club and more.

Parents are contacted by telephone or email the day after the assessment and notified if their child has or has not been offered a place. All enrollments are subject to final approval from Sharjah Education Zone and the Ministry of Education.
