The American University of Sharjah was established in 1997 and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees. The campus is located in the University City of Sharjah.

Programs offered at the AUS’s College of Architecture, Art and Design include Bachelor of Architecture, and Bachelor of Interior Design; Bachelor of Science degree in Design Management, Multimedia Design, and Visual Communication; Master of Urban Planning Program, Minor In Design Management, Minor In Film, Minor In Illustration And Animation, Minor In Photography And Minor In Product Design.

Undergraduate programs offered at CAS include Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, International Studies, Psychology, and Mass Communication; and Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Physics, and Mathematics. The undergraduate programs offered at CEN include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The postgraduate programs offered include a Master Of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering (MSBME), Chemical Engineering (MSCHE), Civil Engineering (MSCE), Computer Engineering (MSCOE), Electrical Engineering (MSEE), Engineering Systems Management, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.
