Al Ghurair University was established in 1999 and is located in the Academic City of Dubai. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering, Finance, IT, HR, Mass Communications, Business, and Design Studies.

The University offers international standard undergraduate and postgraduate programs to students that will equip them with the right set of skills to meet the dynamically challenging world of today. Al Ghurair University has award-winning learning resources, state-of-the-art laboratories, libraries, and facilities. The university has over 26 classrooms well equipped for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Students have access to extensive learning and informative resources. The university has 22 cutting-edge laboratories, workshops, a cafeteria, and well-equipped gym, 7 design studios, parking areas, high-speed Wi-Fi access, and a multipurpose auditorium. The College of Engineering and Computing has 17 labs of which 4 labs are for Electrical Engineering, 3 Mechanical Engineering labs, 2 Project Design labs¸2 Electronics and Communication Engineering laboratories, 3 Computer Science labs, 1 Workshop lab and 2 General Science labs. AGU also has a language laboratory, Writing Center, and a Studio of Mass Communication Department.

The Architecture and Design College programs help students practice, study and master in architecture and design with the Bachelor of Architecture program or the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design program.

The Business College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in business administration. The undergraduate programs include a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting, Human Resource Management, Quality Management, General Management, Information Systems and E-commerce, International Business, Finance, and Marketing. The master's programs include a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Financial Management, Human Resources, General Management, and Project Management.

The Education and Social Sciences college offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs which include Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, Bachelor of Education In Arabic And Islamic Studies, Bachelor of Education in Social Studies, Professional Diploma in Teaching and General Education Program.

The Engineering and Computing College offers a degree in Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

The Law College offers legal qualifications in Bachelor of Law, Master of Private Law and Master of Public Law.
